Update on Isaac's Leukemia diagnosis and treatment Update on Isaac's Leukemia diagnosis and treatment plan:

We returned to the hospital today for Isaac's latest chemo treatment, new blood work, and meetings with his medical team.

The cytogenetics results have come back with difficult news. The particular chromosomal mutation in his Leukemia is rare for non infantile Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, so he will be receiving more intense treatment as a high risk patient in the months ahead which will include at least four planned hospitalizations (and likely many unplanned ones).

The whole process will be even rougher than it would have been otherwise. He is still anticipated to have about 2.5 years of treatment total.

The good news that we received today is that the presence of leukemia cells in his blood stream is currently very low, so the treatment is progressing well so far. He's experiencing several side effects related to the current stage of treatment, but thankfully not severely.

Please continue to pray for continued perseverance in the months ahead for all of us, but especially Isaac. Pray that the Lord would graciously heal his body and continue to minister to and encourage his heart. And pray for his siblings whose hearts ache alongside his.

We are so encouraged by the love and care and prayers of God's people all around the world. God is truly sustaining us moment by moment. You have been such a blessing to us already, and your continued prayers, encouragement, and help are treasured by our entire family. Thank you so very much.
A change of season is a wonderful opportunity to c A change of season is a wonderful opportunity to change up your homeschool memory work and recitation selections!

Our family changes our Morning Time and memory work selections each month. I finished typing up October's earlier today, printed them out for all the kids, and added the pdf to my email subscriber freebies page. (Let me know if you'd like access!)

October will be a Shakespeare month in our homeschool this year. I'm revisiting Henry V because it's always a good time for heroic monologues, but especially seems necessary this fall.

Art teaches us a lot about what it means to be human. It is worth sacrificing other things to include beautiful memory work in your homeschool day.

What are you reciting or learning by heart in your homeschool these days?
